Polishing glass: How to make repairs fun
For all DIY enthusiasts with a passion for flawless glass surfaces: Our glass polishing set has everything you need to polish even small scratches from your table, fireplace door, or glass-ceramic hob.

Polishing light, fine scratches from glass tables, glass ceramics, fireplace doors or oven doors
Our glass polish can be used on all glass surfaces. Not just on coffee tables and display cabinets, but also on glass-ceramic stovetops, fireplace doors, spark guards, oven doors, patio roofs, and front door canopies.

Tip:
For glass surfaces that can get hot – such as ovens, glass ceramic hobs, fireplaces, etc. – please allow the glass surface to cool down completely before polishing out streaks and scratches.

Which scratches can you remove with the polish?
Using our glass polish is promising if you can see the reflection of the scratch in the light – but cannot feel anything when you run your finger over it.

In which cases is our glass polish not suitable?

1. For deep, noticeable scratches
Our glass polish can only remove superficial, imperceptible scratches, dull spots, or streaks. Deep scratches will only polish the glass surface, making it significantly shinier than before, but the scratches will remain.

2. Satin glass, frosted glass and other processed glass surfaces and glass plates
You should avoid using our glass polish on satin or satin-finished and frosted glass (frosted, muslin, and other types). Satin or other frosted glass has been treated with a special process, including sandblasting, grinding, or screen printing. Polishing over it with our polish removes these treatments. The glass surface will be smoothed and shine.

When does the use of our glass polish not produce the desired result?
How to tell if our glass polish can remove your scratch

If your fingernail gets caught on the scratch or you feel it when you slide over it, it is clearly too deep and cannot be repaired with our polish.

If you can see the scratches reflected in the light and feel a scratchy spot on the glass surface when you run your finger over it, you won't be able to remove the scratches with our polish.

Tip: repeat polishing several times

When polishing, it's not how hard you press the polishing felt against the area that matters, but how quickly you can move the felt over it. Therefore, if you polish by hand, it can take significantly longer than you expect.

Our expert tip: Use a cordless screwdriver! This makes polishing easier, faster, and more effective. And it's often necessary to polish the area several times. Often, one polishing session isn't enough to achieve a scratch- and streak-free glass surface.

Can scratches also be polished from other types of glass, such as glass ceramic and induction hobs?
Scratched areas that you polish on glass ceramic cooktops or induction stoves will be darker afterward. A positive side effect: Your stove will be easier to clean again.

Prevent glass burns in the early stages
In the case of glass burns or glass corrosion, also known as glass burn, glass rust, or glass disease, the surface of the glass becomes significantly cloudy. Especially in windows, patio roofs, or canopies, it's worth keeping an eye out for the onset of cloudiness in the glass. Removing these burns early can often prevent the glass surface from becoming completely cloudy.

Tip for polishing with a cordless screwdriver

Our glass polishing set includes accessories for use with a cordless screwdriver. This makes polishing fun.

This polishing method also has an advantage: A cordless screwdriver easily achieves significantly more rotations than if you were removing tiny scratches or dull spots by hand with a polishing felt. This makes it much easier to remove imperceptible scratches and streaks. And you'll probably also get sore wrist muscles. Because removing dull spots and streaks isn't about the pressure, but rather how quickly you rub the polishing felt over the area. This is where the cordless screwdriver obviously has a major advantage over hand polishing.

Polishing felt and polishing attachment: washable and reusable
You can simply rinse the polishing felt and the polishing attachment for the cordless screwdriver with lukewarm water and reuse them next time. However, it's not absolutely necessary to rinse both felts. Alternatively, you can simply reactivate them with a few drops of water for the next use.

Application Notes

Step 1:
Clean the surface with a suitable cleaner.

Step 2:
Shake the glass polish vigorously and apply a dab of glass polish to the felt polishing head. Rub the dab onto the felt.

Step 3:
Then, attach the polishing attachment to the polishing pad using the Velcro fastener. Then, attach the polishing pad to the cordless screwdriver.

The size of the blob depends on the surface of the glass you want to polish. Typically, a blob about the size of a two-euro coin is sufficient, or depending on the size of the glass surface you want to polish.

Step 4:
Place the polishing pad with the polishing attachment on the area you want to polish. Turn on the cordless screwdriver and rub the glass polish in a circular motion.

You can repeat this step three times. If you don't see any significant improvement, the scratch is unfortunately too deep to be removed with our polish.

Is the cordless screwdriver running hot?
Take a break or reduce the pressure.
